+x+xI did the whole reclaim process again as instructed, and this time I got a new address. I will post it here so you can verify it... FDO9IUTMBQDFJXPWZYQQPRGJGHOEHBENCTKKUJOOZHZEOMKNDFHQQKSQ9DXHVIDFQ9RPCOHDHN9VXCMJYCCDFHGWHX Do I need to do anything else or just wait? @danvulpe86Ok, this sounds good so far! There’s no way for me (or anyone else) to verify your address. But if you log into the wallet with your new seed and this address is the first one you can generate in the Receive tab, you should be fine. Now all you can do is to wait for your reclaim to be processed by the Foundation. Unfortunately there’s no way to estimate when this will happen. Unfortunately it is not the first one I can generate does this mean i have to the the reclaim process one more time?

+xHey guys, I am opening my wallet after 6 months and cannot see my iotas any more. What I did so far is pretty overseeable but I am not able to locate my funds. Here is my transaction history: - bought IOTA on bitfinex in August - moved IOTA from bitfinex to address X (TXID QCKCHZEFDUK9RYXUCYYYYXMTDWNGFPBQTUHOORCKDYNM9REJGVAKMRHTRWNULFIWJKMEJUCFVHGF99999) - generated new "cold" seed/address Y - moved all IOTA from address X to address Y (TXID DAOKXBNJHDWRN9FSSEPSATLGSQBYBQSG9LOEIDBPPY9ZVOWYOJUMAUEBEMYGMB9OPRSWKYKQPYHW99999) - bought some more IOTA on bitfinex in december - moved these IOTA from bitfinex to address Y (generated from different seed) (TXID FLLOYFPIWSJRWOIFCIQJPSXTVTDSTPXUGHOXMIOZBIFNOHB9KZXQCUONFABSIRWTTAPDGSIDUEON99999) Now I cannot find my IOTA with any of those seeds with my wallet. Tried already to reattach more than 50 times. Does anybody have an idea based on the transaction history? Thanks a lot in advance!! Regards, Hendrik @bahrenbergHi Hendrik, thanks for your post and welcome to HelloIOTA! Address X isn’t important anymore, because you’ve moved your funds form there to address Y. Here is address Y on the tangle explorer: https://thetangle.org/address/XDTQXCCMYQQRFNMXYYVPMLDTPRQGJRBSPTJJBKYTFRWADTQAZPANDJWNJPWJEVEMETOZLTRMDSFLQOZ99Apparently you sent funds to this address it for the first time on September 1st (50 Mi, probably coming from an exchange). Those 50 Mi were transferred somewhere else that same day. After this first transfer out, you should have never used this address again. Here’s why: https://matthewwinstonjohnson.gitbooks.io/iota-guide-and-faq/how-addresses-work.html But you did use this address again, several times. The DAOKX…-transaction you’ve posted sent 266 Miota to address Y on September 7th. Those funds have been transferred out shortly after (together with 5 Mi from a previous deposit that same day). In December you sent to address Y again (219.5 Mi with the FLLOY…-transaction). Those funds were transferred out on January 5th. There’s no way for me to tell which of these outgoing transactions were made by you. But what is very clear is that you’ve reused this address, which made its private key vulnerable to bruteforcing. If you didn’t make the outgoing transactions, then someone else did. Unfortunately there’s nothing you could do to get these funds back.

The correct new seed would generate the address that the reclaim tool showed you. If it doesn’t, you’re not using the same new seed now that you’ve used to do the reclaim. It could be a typo or a character that you've missed when you copied and pasted your seed to log in. Please double check for any such mistakes. You could also give fvantom's recovery tool a shot if you can’t find the mistake yourself: https://forum.helloiota.com/7000/Seed-recovery-tool-for-typosPlease don’t repeat the reclaim for now, that would likely trigger the KYC process.

Hi all,
I have experienced multiple snapshots before and had no problems following the steps as usual: reattaching addresses until you have your balance back completely. Unfortunately, this time I can't retrieve all my IOTAs. Somehow, it's stuck at only 2/3 of my balance. I attached to many addresses (many still pending though) and I can't seem to get my balance. I only use my wallet for storing my IOTA. I don't actively use it, hence I find it unlikely that I haven't attached to enough addresses. Did something happen last snapshot that was different than before? Your help would be much appreciated!

+x+x Feedback from Binance is that's not my address and it never was, so I guess I'm out of luck since I can't follow the trail into a known Binance account like eth. Thanks again for the input. @tarikisanWell, RDTYX... it is definitely an exchange deposit address and it has been actively used by that exchange. No doubt about this, the following transactions show this very clearly. Are you absolutely sure it was Binance and not Bitfinex or some other exchange? If you're sure it was Binance, can't you see your deposit addresses in your account's deposit history? (I honestly don't know because I never sent any IOTA to any exchange. ) However, sometimes exchange support people makes mistakes. Ask them to please look into it again. This time send them the following: Ask them if this address (JWHSO...) is one of their own. If they confirm this, then RDTYX... has to be your deposit address.

As far as I know, this snapshot wasn't any different from the last one. If you post some of your first addresses (maybe the first five or something) we can look them up one by one on a tangle explorer and see if we find anything.

+x+xThe first seed I used back in Aug 2017 won't generate the same address that I initially used to receive funds. EJNHFBO9RUMZOFWIJZDQGVOWX9HFZQNVPGQJN9ELHGUXLDRJXJRHIAGEHSDBPISEOGVVFHRIAYD9ANJJCPLFOJLDFQ It shows "CURL_UNUSED" in the list at https://ipfs.io/ipfs/Qmeb4B5AEi5MWTreKPRtufBFRFWRVTpZkBpX6FeaXCAe3B so the funds were taken into custody of the IOTA foundation. I used the reclaim tool 10 days ago but no balance has shown up yet at the address given by the reclaim tool. Wondering what sort of processing time I should expect. HI @generic-username, thanks for your post and welcome to HelloIOTA! Your address needs to be reclaimed because you've missed to transition your seed back in autumn last year. So you did the right thing by using the reclaim tool. The IOTA Foundation took your funds and secured them because the algorithm for address generation had changed. This results in exactly what you're experiencing right now: your old seed can't generate the same old addresses anymore and you'll get totally different addresses now. Because of this, you'd have lost any access to your funds forever if the Foundation had not taken them to be reclaimed. If you want to make sure that the old seed you've used for the reclaim was correct (e.g. no typo), you can use this tool: https://github.com/domschiener/iota-address-generator It has never been updated to the new algo and will still generate old addresses. It works offline, too. Uncheck "Deterministic", set Security Level to "2" and increase the Key Index from 0 up to the number of addresses you've ever used. If you're using the correct old seed, it will generate your EJNHF... address at some point. There's no timeline for when reclaims will be processed. There have so far been five batches since December in irregular time intervals. All you can do is wait and check the address that the reclaim tool showed you at the end on thetangle.org to see when our funds return. Please don't use your new seed for anything until your balance is back. I'm still waiting. Will it be weeks? Months? Years? Not enjoying this involuntary hodl experiment.

+x+x+x+xHi all, I have experienced multiple snapshots before and had no problems following the steps as usual: reattaching addresses until you have your balance back completely. Hi @TS1995, welcome to Hello IOTA! As far as I know, this snapshot wasn't any different from the last one. If you post some of your first addresses (maybe the first five or something) we can look them up one by one on a tangle explorer and see if we find anything. Hi Alexa, Thank you! Below are the first five addresses (from first to latest). Of these five, only the third one is confirmed. Others are pending. The balance I see is 99.3 and the balance that I would expect is 144.6 I'm still using the Light Wallet (the latest one) and not the Trinity Wallet, but that shouldn't make a difference right?

The first five addresses never contained the missing part of your balance. You could post some more addresses if you like. But maybe it would be easier if you could go to your withdraw history on your exchange account (Bitfinex or wherever you bought them) and post the addresses to which you withdrew your funds back then. We can track them from there and see where they went.

Hello,
I have been waiting for my IOTA to return for more than 6 months at this point. I have followed all of the tutorials on the 're-claim' process, I have sought out the guidance of the admins on this board, and followed their directions for IOTA recovery. I have 3 reclaim address which are checked every week, nothing appears in my wallets. I have completed the reclaim process perfectly. This is absolutely maddening that my IOTA is no longer in my possession. I need my money or my IOTA back, if I need to seek legal counsel I will.
What do I need to do to get my IOTA back? Telling me to 'just wait longer' is unacceptable.

If you feel that you've exhausted the resources available to you here on the community forum, consider talking to one of the members of the IOTA Foundation to seek further assistance. They have some community liaisons now who might be able to help?
