+xHello everybody, After reinstall my phone i am lost IOTs from my application Trinity, Balance = 0. Can you help me. thank you very much. @mattycz Thanks for the post, and welcome to the forum. People will be able to help out if you can post the address in which your balance is held. The simple answer is that you need to generate the address that holds your balance.

+x @Jcga The address you linked to only had a balance for less than an hour. 6 Gi was transferred into it on June 13, 2017, and then immediately sent out of it. Here's the outgoing transaction: https://thetangle.org/bundle/R9YKGWEOOJHJHQQIGMRFXB9ERIZCAYDLOGXHGDIOBSPETSRDIYBMRZPWEDR9OOPUAWHJHZLMQROXUFCGT2 Gi was sent here: https://thetangle.org/address/RCJXJZXAURQJMHNAECASC9ANRDKMASNNADWYIWWSTDJUOYUXN9RECSP99ERLGAHNNGGSFPG9WPPDCBGSZWhich was subsequently sent in this bundle 2 days later (June 15, 2017): https://thetangle.org/bundle/OWWAOSJSSOKRC9TWRVNPCAKHIIISVDICJ9JQDZXBQUTUYSAKBCKG9RJNSPRHKLGMZAAKMWWKPDIJFCZBBThe other 4 Gi was sent here: https://thetangle.org/address/YXIASRUMDALZTMFZP9SAQOSQXAYOLMXRORHEUVMXOCOXNEWINTBMNXZOWVZVSYKQTQDSJJWGRGS9VFTXVWhich has a 0 balance now for whatever reason. If I had to guess, I would say you sent 2 Gi to an exchange and the remaining 4 Gi was sent to the next address in your seed. But it looks like the 4 Gi address is now set to 0, so unsure.

+xHi. Please tell me where I can demand my lost IOTs ????? https://thetangle.org/address/FQEUKOYHXYRQHTKFVVVJT9ZV9WUWSF9BPKUIFTRIAFGAPKIBLAZLMFEQRMYMZASCNSTXKNBOSK9LYT99DHey @mattycz , thanks for the posts. You balance of 1.35 Gi is safely sitting in the address that you posted above. Generate that address in your wallet and you'll have access to spend it. https://thetangle.org/address/FQEUKOYHXYRQHTKFVVVJT9ZV9WUWSF9BPKUIFTRIAFGAPKIBLAZLMFEQRMYMZASCNSTXKNBOSK9LYT99D

+xHi @Winston thanks for your answer. I dont now, how i can generate that adress in my wallet ? Please help me. Thx @mattyczTo generate that address in your wallet, you'll need to login to the wallet with your correct seed and then generate addresses until that specific address pops up. Note that addresses are deterministic based on the seed, so for example if you only used 11 addresses previously, then you'll generate 11 addresses again to get to the same 11th address that you used before. If you're not able to generate the address you're looking for, then you're in the incorrect seed. This could be because you originally recorded your seed with a typo in it, in which case you'll want to give fvantom's seed recovery tool a spin: https://forum.helloiota.com/7000/Seed-recovery-tool-for-typos

+xHi @Winston. I didn't use any address before. I tried to generate approx 50 address and nothing. My seed is OK. Some more help ? Thank you verry much. @mattycz "I didn't use any address before." <<< It sounds like you originally just used the first address that appeared in your wallet: https://thetangle.org/address/FQEUKOYHXYRQHTKFVVVJT9ZV9WUWSF9BPKUIFTRIAFGAPKIBLAZLMFEQRMYMZASCNSTXKNBOSK9LYT99DIf that FQEU... address isn't generated as the first address in your wallet when you log in with your seed, then you're using a different seed right now than you were using originally. If there's a typo or something, you'll probably want to use fvantom's great seed recovery tool that I posted in my previous reply. The situation is that your 1.35 Gi are gone forever unless you can figure out the seed that you were originally using.

+x+x@Winston. I forgot to mention that I recently made it transfer to new seed. my new adress: YYMMELREPHFHIWR9NRGWTHBREIUEDQLWKBTHCQHGHKJPI9UZEDJVTOSJQL9CVIBTAJVFKKPNXSYSNYLUYZAMPRFHBA @mattyczhttps://thetangle.org/address/YYMMELREPHFHIWR9NRGWTHBREIUEDQLWKBTHCQHGHKJPI9UZEDJVTOSJQL9CVIBTAJVFKKPNXSYSNYLUYYou have attached this address to the tangle. No transaction of any amount has been sent to this YYMME... address. Your balance still resides in this address: https://thetangle.org/address/FQEUKOYHXYRQHTKFVVVJT9ZV9WUWSF9BPKUIFTRIAFGAPKIBLAZLMFEQRMYMZASCNSTXKNBOSK9LYT99D

+xThank @Winston and that you care. So you think I'm wrong seed ? @mattyczIf the seed you're in isn't generating the FQEU... address, then yep, it looks like you're in the wrong seed. Next step would be using fvantom's seed recovery tool linked a few replies above to hopefully brute force your way into the proper original seed.

Hi @Winston. I tried a seed recovery tool from fvantom and without success. It is possible that the original seed is correct ? There may be a problem somewhere else ?? Thanks.

+x Hi @vict, welcome to Hello IOTA. The cause of this situation is that you received funds to this address a second time after you had already sent from it on January 22nd. Address reuse needs to be avoided for security reasons as explained for example here: https://iotasupport.com/how-addresses-are-used-in-IOTA.shtml and with a nice litte piggybank-image here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Iota/comments/7cze8u/iota_address_reuse_explained_for_laymen/. Now, what happened is that someone simply reattached this old transaction over and over again on April 5th. Anyone could do this since all addresses are public and reattaching doesn’t require any signature. The good news is that because it doesn’t require any signature, a reattached transaction can never be changed to be different from the original. That’s why your funds all ended up on the same address that you originally sent to on January 22nd. Everything is still on that address and to get it back you need to remember were you sent your funds to the first time. When you’ve figured that out, either access that address if it’s one of your own or contact the person who received your first transfer on January 22nd and ask them to return the part that got sent in April. Since you didn’t mention the last transaction for the remaining 127.71 Mi, can I assume that you sent these to a different address yourself?
I wouldn't be able to help anyone without thetangle.org-explorer. If you feel like you want to support its developer Mathieu Viossat in maintaining his service, please consider a donation to the address shown here: https://thetangle.org/about. Thank you!
