This thread: Updated Thursday July 26, 2018
Status Update: Thursday, July 26
From Dom --

"Progress update on reclaims:
- The 4 manual claimers (from the first period) will receive their tokens before the end of the weekend
- 7 KYC claimers will receive their tokens today
- Automated claimers will receive their tokens paid out in the typical batches this week "

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 15 (Dom):
"To all the Reclaimers:

We've processed another batch of reclaims today: https://thetangle.org/bundle/BRLMFSBBZU9GFCHLAKKEGAEPTOQJBIRVX9OLVJKYWRCKVTOH9BBURIYUTKRGFXUST9CYOBCUCGGJKFQJC. These are reclaims that were not affected by the KYC process. For those that were part of the KYC process, you will receive an email during the coming days requesting an address to send the payments to. We will provide you with instructions on how to securely generate your address and seed, so that we don't have the same mistakes happen again"

========================================================

May Update

For everyone, who's waiting for a reply to their e-mails or KYC, there was an update posted by Dominik on Discord yesterday:
"Update on Reclaims
Here to give you a quick update on the reclaim process. We've so far received more than a 50 successful identifications on https://kyc.iota.org/, and are now starting the process of verifying these identities with the token claims. Considering the complexity and the more thorough verification required for this, we expect to send out the tokens within 2 weeks.
For everyone that emailed us at contact@iota.org / reclaims@iota.org please keep in mind that we have more than 130 unanswered tickets right now, and are doing our best to process them as fast as possible. Expect around 7 - 10 days response time right now."

I talked to Andrew Greve:
"Also, for the people having issues with IDnow in specific countries, IF is aware of this and looking into the situation. I'm sorry I can't offer anything more concrete at the time, but I'm glad you're all making sure I am sticking on the case. I will be sure to follow up here as soon as I have more info to share on any of the issues you've all raised."

IOTA Reclaim Identification Verification Process

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Status update (April 12th 2018):
"I took ownership for the KYC process on board-level. We are finalizing the legal side until the end of next week and will have an update out before the end of April. We will then finally start KYC in the first week of May, leveraging a partner who does BaFin compliant video identification. There unfortunately is no other way."

"About Reclaims: we're currently finalizing a website that fully automates the process of KYC'ing all the claimants. We will hopefully be able to kick it off by next week"
-Dom

User @trx314 has received a response from the IOTA team regarding a KYC reclaim email. For more details, see the post on page 70 of this thread. It sounds like things are slowly moving along behind the scenes. This OP will remain updated with any official announcements from the IOTA Foundation.

----------------------------------------
"Hello everyone, I wanted to give you all a general update on the Reclaims: We've been working on getting the second batch validated (over 500 claims this time), and will start sending it out in batches later tonight, with full completion most likely by Friday.
We're still working on setting up a (cost-efficient) KYC process and are making good progress there. We'll be providing an update on this early next week to those that were affected. Considering the sensitivity of this subject, I appreciate patience as we want to make sure that everything is done right and properly documented.

We've also been in active dialogue with the police (mostly in Germany) about the seed generator scam, and will continue to provide further assistance to them and the community to hopefully successfully close the case."
-Dom (February 7, 2018)

"Reclaims
Also an update on the Reclaims: We're currently spending time with our legal experts to come up with a full strategy on giving back the reclaims with a properly approved KYC process. We'll be providing updates on this soon."

-Navin (January 19th)

List of KYC addresses is included in this blog post

"For those who are part of the reclaim process, and have reclaimed twice to the same address, please *do not send funds from your address already!*. We are unable to send you your other claims (for obvious reasons). Keep that in mind. (This address is an example: https://thetangle.org/address/YUTRIPWLUKLEY9LMAJZFLUVWQIDNELCVDRTPFMEBNRHZHEPZYLRYPWFXMKPJHOPIVYGMHGWYXAR9FCWLB)"

#general channel on IOTA Slack:
"we've just finished all the preparations yesterday, and are beginning to reach out to people (KYC) and we're investigating a few different issues. The first payment will *definitely* go out today."
-Dom (December 29, 2017)

#announcements channel on IOTA Slack:
"Claims and Reclaims will be processed by the end of this week (starting with today). A blog post will soon with further details on how this will work, especially for the ones with multiple claims (which may or may not be scammers / hackers trying to steal funds. We have taken some legal counter-measures for those claims to protect the users)."

#general channel on IOTA Slack:
"we will absolutely give a very positive update this week. Like I said before, we're right now wrapping things up on our end and will then post something in #announcements. So watch that channel"

"please download the latest GUI wallet, which fixed a minor bug in the promotion function that was added recently. https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases/tag/v2.5.6
We will be providing an update on the reclaims issue ASAP - now that the network is in a more healthy state, we should be able to send back the reclaims as soon as our verification tools are completed."
-Dom (December 22, 2017)

Official Announcement:
'Update on the claiming issue

Absolutely sorry to everyone that is involved in this process, as it's been taking longer than expected on our side to finish up the tool for all the claimants to go through. As the claims have been decreasing over the last few days and the majority have so far send their claims through, we will be issuing these payments as part of an upcoming snapshot (next week).

We will start issuing payments before that snapshot already, to speed things up for some users.'

This thread will be updated with live updates as they come.
This is not the official status, seeing as how I'm just some random guy, but official announcements from the team will be posted here as soon as they're available.

If you have finished both phases of the reclaim process (for detailed instructions, see the pinned thread in the Help forum), you'll need to wait for the IOTA Foundation to process your reclaim before you're able to see your balance in the wallet again. This is frustrating for a lot of people, but we're left with no other choice but to wait.

Feel free to post questions and concerns here. This community is happy to help with any problems.

@mavis43: Me having also same problem recovering my 18Gi.
I am stuck in Phase 1.

I fear that the balance will be lost according to "https://matthewwinstonjohnson.gitbooks.io/iota-guide-and-faq/getting-started/guide-transition/transition-faq.html"
"but it has been highly recommended that you transition as soon as possible. This is to avoid any issues with your balance in the future.

Here my details
1) I verified that my address belongs to the seed using iota/iota-address-generator/index.html (with keyindex=0 and SecurityLevel=2)

2) My address is listed  in
  • snapshot_september.txt CURL_UNUSED
  • snapshot_october.txt CURL_NOT_TRANSITIONED"
3) I started  IOTA Light Wallet and logged in using my old seed SeedA.

4) Started the Reclaim Tool. Entered SeedA, then a new SeedB without number 9.
Tried multiple times changing Host, Reattach, then Client restart, all in state "Proof transaction is pending"
Last transaction:
https://www.iotasear.ch/transaction/YYTGMEZQRYQNESFNILRKCJIPCTNKSKHFPSCFGZVUBKOLUFVQYQUCQWMENULISSHWOKTDOADGVVFU99999

5) Restarted the Reclaim Tool again. Entered SeedA, then a new SeedC  containing number 9.
Tried multiple times changing Host, Reattach, then Client restart, all in state "Proof transaction is pending"
Recent transaction:
https://www.iotasear.ch/transaction/ZGAFMTMIIKLVEGYUYIXRCFKEFDGBRTOCHNY9QYGKWMECNMNBLHUCFEUZLHRKKOECFAQYAUIJWJVT99999

All transactions in State "Unconfirmed"
What am I doing wrong? Can anyone give me some hints/clues?
THANKS!!

The steps given in
https://matthewwinstonjohnson.gitbooks.io/iota-guide-and-faq/getting-started/guide-transition.html
describe a wonderful world without any problems.

@eidkdudphelloiotaxqvtqvlplwruo
You must use the reclaim without login the wallet 2.5.4.
The main problem right now is confirm the phases. That can be achieved changing host, chack if MWM is at 14 and change to ccurl in the curl implementation. Do this settings before begin the reclaim process. At this moment you can try with the hosts http://88.198.230.98:14265 or http://176.9.3.149:14265
But again, the reclaim tool must be used without login in the wallet.
You are certain that you finished the reclaim correctly if you get an address that is going to be used to get your funds back.
Please read this guide about the reclaim process.

@Taylor Allen

Can you please confirm, that the address shown in the Reclaim-Tool at
"Any reclaimed tokens will be sent to your address shown below..."
doesn't need to match with with any of the addresses generated in "IOTA Address Generator"
using the same new Seed?

Are you talking about this tool https://github.com/domschiener/iota-address-generator ?

Yes

This tool is not updated. It´s previous to 8th August, You can try with any other seed and you can check that to be sure.

Dominik mentioned that they will start processing reclaims after the new wallet release: https://www.reddit.com/r/Iota/comments/7kb5ce/reclaims_will_hopefully_begin_processing_tomorrow/

The 2.5.5 is released already.

That was the third promise that they made and broke.

...the more allarming thing in this whole story is not if they will eventually give us back the IOTAs, but that the cryptocurrencies are supposed to rely on a blockchain (or tangle in this case) that is immutable...
...not like the bad old bank account that can be blocked by the evil authorities...

but SURPRISE SURPRISE!
Also in the crypto-world there is someone that can block your money or play with it...
...like central banks, right?

really funny!

@Irengnovta
"Also in the crypto-world there is someone that can block your money or play with it..."

Make sure to educate yourself on the technology that you're involved with. This is the case with every distributed ledger. Please read up on snapshots, specifically: https://forum.helloiota.com/628/What-is-a-snapshot
https://forum.helloiota.com/4659/How-do-I-prepare-for-a-snapshot

Yeah Son... I already know the details about the snapshots and it's a ridiculous system... but I understand it's a beta version...

Anyway, the snapshot doesn't justify that EVEN IF we are in the crypto-world, there's still some "authority" that can block your "money" or confiscate it... this doesn't shed a bright light to the future.

And still I remind you that everything is caused by development bug.

I propose to rename this forum hell-o-IOTA
LOL

@Irengnovta
"And still I remind you that everything is caused by development bug."
This is untrue.

Tell it to Neha Narula - Director, Digital Currency Initiative at the MIT Media Lab.

https://medium.com/@neha/cryptographic-vulnerabilities-in-iota-9a6a9ddc4367

"In its repositories on GitHub, we found a serious vulnerability?—?the IOTA developers had written their own hash function, Curl, and it produced collisions (when different inputs hash to the same output). Once we developed our attack, we could find collisions using commodity hardware within just a few minutes, and forge signatures on IOTA payments. "

Come on...

Hi guys, my 1st post.
I'm also affected by the reclaim, I think I completed both passes correctly and now waiting for them to process the reclaims. I'm not in a hurry, hope they make it soon just to get over with so we all can look into (hopefully bright) future.

In the meantime I bought more miota and they are now on the exchange. I would like to transfer them to the light wallet but not sure if I can do it before the reclaim is completed?
If yes, which address should I use? Just one generated with my new seed? Is it safe?
Thanks

@bokicar
I would recommend making another new/different seed, and sending your newly purchased IOTA to that new wallet. No reason to confuse the reclaim situation unnecessarily.

Thanks for the question, and welcome to the community.

@Winston do you have any news for the KYC problem?

@agroprom
They haven't posted any news regarding the KYC process. Presumably still in the works. The OP of this thread will be updated as soon as any new info becomes available.

Thanks for checking in.

I'm not understanding something. In this page http://iota-reclaim-status.info.tm/untransitioned_curl.html they say:
"As detailed in this forum post, in September the IOTA foundation decided to end this transition period. Untransitioned IOTA would have to go through the same reclaim process as IOTA claimed due to key reuse. "

1) Does this mean that if my address is on that list, I have to do the KYC?
2) If yes, they also say "Addresses marked in bold below require KYC before claims can be processed (see this blog post).", but my address is NOT bold in that list. So what do I have to do?
3) What if the address below is my address on a exchange?

- My address: RVXWWKYAZKNXZGMKXUDDRCHAKMUAIEXQRR9PBXOIAFNYNNYVRTCALTMXRMTUHDXIUAGCEW9DM9JNVUQKS
- My address result as UNCLAIMED even though I did the reclaim process correctly http://iota-reclaim-status.info.tm/curl/RVXWWKYAZKNXZGMKXUDDRCHAKMUAIEXQRR9PBXOIAFNYNNYVRTCALTMXRMTUHDXIUAGCEW9DM9JNVUQKS.html
- My address is NOT on the frozen address list due to KEY REUSE  http://iota-reclaim-status.info.tm/key_reuse.html
- My address is on the list of UNSTRANSITIONED CURL, but it is NOT bold http://iota-reclaim-status.info.tm/untransitioned_curl.html
- I can't find my new address in any of the batches processed https://github.com/schierlm/iota-reclaim-status/blob/master/history/0000-RECLAIM-HISTORY.md

Please quote me so I can see your reply.
Please reply as clear as possible. All this stuff is driving me nuts.

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Hi @overkill22,
thanks for your post! I hope we can clear a few things up for you...

First of all, that github you are referring to is a community project, it is not related to the IOTA Foundation. The info posted there can be very useful for some people, but it can also cause confusion for others (like you ;-).

Some of the lists (especially the KYC-list!) haven’t been updated in quite a while. And I don’t even see how the „UNCLAIMED“ status can be determined since the foundation never disclosed which of the reclaimable "old" addresses have been processed. It also says this:
„UNCLAIMED: Address has not been claimed yet (or not yet been processed)“. However, this status won’t update itself automatically after the reclaim has been completed for any address with this status...
Bottom line is: you shouldn’t rely too much on the info there.

An official update on the KYC process is expected soon (see Ralf’s latest statement on top of the OP).
Regarding anything KYC related, best thing to do is to wait for further official info. Maybe they’ll disclose an updated KYC list then, too.

To answer your questions:
1) No. It only means that the reclaim process, which was previously set up for private key reuses only, had been extended to untransitioned addresses too.
2) If you’re unsure if KYC applies to you, wait for the official update.
3) Exchange addresses are not part of the reclaim procedure, so your RVXWW…- address can’t be an exchange address.

What is clear is that using the reclaim tool is the correct thing to do for you if the RVXWW-address is yours.

For the reclaim to work, you need to make sure of two things basically:
1. The "old seed" that you've submitted must be the same seed that could generate the RVXWW-.address
2. The reclaim process must be completed. It is completed when the reclaim tool showed you the address where your funds are going to be sent to. Like in this screenshot:

If you want us to take a look at this address, feel free to post it. It’s safe to do so.
Never post your seed.

Please let us know if you have any more questions...
